YouTube Bans Pornhub’s Channel Due To Multiple Violations

YouTube removed Pornhub’s channel for violating “multiple” community guidelines. Google claims that Pornhub’s account broke YouTube’s external linking policy. This prohibits users from linking to content not permitted on YouTube, such as pornography.

“Upon review, we terminated the channel Pornhub Official following multiple violations of our Community Guidelines,” Says YouTube spokesperson Jack Malon.”We enforce our policies equally for all, and channels that violate or are dedicated towards violative content are terminated.”

Pornhub’s YouTube channel has almost 900,000. Subscribers before it was shut down. It posted the content that was safe for work, promoting the site as well as its performers.

YouTube also imposed an age restriction on videos uploaded by the company. This required that viewers be at least 18 years old to view them. The company “vehemently denials” claims that it is linked to or posted content containing adult material.

“Pornhub maintains the absolute best trust and safety measures on the internet and takes special care to ensure it does not violate any of YouTube’s Community Guidelines,” Says a Pornhub spokesperson. The spokesperson requested anonymity due to safety concerns related to doxing.

“Unfortunately, this is just the latest example of discrimination against those in the adult industry, a trend seen across social media and all other facets of life, especially as groups disingenuously conflate consensual adult content with exploitation.”

Pornhub’s YouTube account was removed months ago. Instagram had previously banned Pornhub’s account for violating its rules regarding nudity, sexual solicitation, and adult content.

Instagram claims that Pornhub encourages users to leave Instagram to view adult content, just like YouTube. Pornhub addressed the ban with an open letter. It criticizes Instagram’s decision to remove its “fully PG account” while other creators continue posting content with “nudity or overt sexuality without any repercussions.”

Pressure continues to build around Pornhub and MindGeek, its Luxembourg-based parent company. Some accuse the site of failing in content moderation and allowing videos that contain child abuse material and other non-consenting subjects.

These concerns caused Feras Antoon, CEO of Pornhub, to resign and David Tassillo, COO, to resign. It also affected Pornhub’s relationships with other companies.

Visa and Mastercard stopped transactions on Pornhub in 2020 due to the presence of “unlawful material.” However, both companies are still facing litigation that accuses them “of helping MindGeek monetize child porn.”
