Dating Platform OKCupid To Integrate ChatGPT In App

OkCupid, a dating app, is the latest company to join the AI and ChatGPT frenzy. In an email, Michael Kaye, the company’s global communications head, stated that OkCupid was testing a new type of match question generated by OpenAI’s new chatbot ChatGPT.

Match questions allow you to define yourself and what is important to you. Your match percentage shows OkCupid how compatible you may be. ChatGPT-generated match questions are now being tested in the app.

Kaye stated, “At OkCupid, we always keep our finger on the pulse for the latest conversations within the technology sector.” ChatGPT is the topic that dominates discussions. First, we asked our daters their opinions about ChatGPT and other AI tools. We found daters who believed ChatGPT was a lifesaver got almost 40% more matches than those who thought it was a life destroyer. This sparked an idea. What if ChatGPT could be used to create the matching questions that will power our algorithm? This was when we decided that this category of questions should be tested. Users have responded very well to it.”

OkCupid then asked ChatGPT to create questions people should ask each other when they are dating. Kaye stated that these six questions had been answered over 135,000 times.

Question Generated By ChatGPT:

  • Are you more of an introvert or extrovert?
  • Are you a morning or night person?
  • What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend?
  • What do you value most in a partner?
  • How do you know when to take a relationship to the next level?
  • How do you balance your own needs with the needs of your partner in a relationship?

It was clear that most respondents are introverts and prefer night over morning. People also stated that they prefer to spend weekends with friends rather than doing other activities. Trust is the most important thing in a partner. Unsurprisingly, OkCupid has also used ChatGPT to send messages to their matches.

ChatGPT has been a dominant internet tool since its inception a few months back. It is now becoming increasingly popular. Microsoft has announced the long-rumored integration in Bing of OpenAI’s GPT-4 modeling. This will provide a ChatGPT-like experience within Bing. Despite all the hype surrounding it, Google has been working to assure analysts and investors that ChatGPT is still an important player in AI development. Google is eager to join the sudden enthusiasm for conversational AI. Recently, it announced Bard as its new AI experiment.
