World’s Largest Car Maker To Launch NFTs

The largest automaker in the world, Nissan, has announced it will launch several NFTs to launch a brand new game named Torque Drift 2. Torque Drift 2 is part of an Australian multi-platform video game studio known as Greece Monkey Games.

Greece Monkey Games and Monkey Games are set to introduce 15 distinct Nissan models over twelve months. They will also offer several variants available in Torque Drift 2. The first official Nissan NXT 180SX model will have, for instance, five different versions on Torque Drift 2. In contrast, Sil80 and 370Z models come with seven variations.

These 15 Nissan NFTs will be among the first official licensed NFTs to be accessible in the game. Additional NFTs, including those from NISMO, Infiniti, and Datsun, is expected to be available.

Torque Drift 2 will be hosted on the Polygon side-chain. In a statement about Nissan’s NFT strategy, the director of Global Games Business Development at Polygon Studios, Urvit Goel, stated:

“Nissan’s entrance into the Web3 market by launching Torque Drift 2 represents one of the most thrilling and essential applications of blockchain technology and NFT technology by a renowned international brand.

Nissan will join other international brands, such as Mercedes, who have also revealed crypto-related initiatives. Mercedes has launched several NFT drops, and Hyundai in July unveiled plans to provide NFTs and NFT-backed content publishing.

Nissan’s partnership with Torque Drift 2 is expected to grant the game studio access to every Nissan, Datsun, and Infiniti vehicle and its parts. 3D models that include engine variants and exclusive NISMO components will be developed by considering vehicle trim options, color options, horsepower, and performance attributes.
