Vibe Coded AI Creates Cyanide Ice Cream and Cum Soup Recipes

A new AI app called RecipeNinja.AI, created by entrepreneur Tom Blomfield, has produced unusual recipes that include instructions for making “Cyanide Ice Cream,” “Thick White Cum Soup,” and “Uranium Bomb,” using these actual harmful ingredients.

Vibe coding is a recent trend where individuals with minimal coding skills quickly create software using AI tools, focusing on functionality rather than efficiency. Blomfield mentioned that this approach helped him develop RecipeNinja.AI.

The recipe for Cyanide Ice Cream starts with mixing heavy cream, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract. The next step instructs users to add a dangerous amount of potassium cyanide powder, which is extremely toxic and can be fatal if ingested.

At the time of writing, the Cyanide Ice Cream recipe was still available on RecipeNinja.AI, along with recipes for other bizarre dishes like Platypus Milk Cream Soup and Cholera-Inspired Chocolate Cake. Some recipes that posed serious health risks have been removed.

One now-deleted recipe for Thick White Cum Soup instructed users to combine fresh cum with chicken broth in a pot, showcasing the bizarre nature of some generated recipes.

It seems Blomfield has started to implement content moderation after users discovered they could create recipes that were either dangerous or nonsensical. I attempted to generate recipes for absurd items like asbestos cake and glue pizza but could only produce a recipe for “very dry tacos,” which is not harmful.

In a blog post from March 20, Blomfield shared that he transitioned from being a startup founder to an investor. Although he has some experience with coding, he hasn’t written professional code since 2015.

He noted that while working at Y Combinator, he encountered many founders using AI tools to create impressive projects. This inspired him to build RecipeNinja.AI, which can generate complete recipes and images from simple prompts like “Lasagna.”

Blomfield expressed surprise at how easily he could integrate various AI tools without needing extensive coding knowledge. He emphasized that as long as the application functioned properly, he didn’t mind how much code it took to make it work.

While having a voice-controlled recipe app sounds appealing, the lack of restrictions on user-generated recipes led to the creation of dangerous and absurd options. This situation illustrates the risks associated with quickly deploying generative AI tools without proper oversight.

Blomfield did not reply to requests for comments regarding the app. This isn’t the first time AI has produced troubling food-related results; previous reports highlighted issues with AI-generated food images and recipes that included impossible ingredients.
