The Microsoft Cognitive Toolkit (CNTK) is an open-source deep learning toolkit developed for commercial-grade distributed deep learning. While no longer actively developed, the final major release was CNTK 2.7. CNTK describes neural networks through a directed graph and supports various model types, including feed-forward DNNs, CNNs, and RNNs/LSTMs.
It implements stochastic gradient descent learning with automatic differentiation and can be used as a library in Python, C#, or C++ programs. It supports 64-bit Linux or Windows and is one of the first toolkits to support the Open Neural Network Exchange (ONNX) format for framework interoperability. CNTK is available with no separate license required for 1-bit Stochastic Gradient Descent (1-bit SGD) and is compatible with 64-bit Linux or Windows.
