The xAI’s Grok chatbot has revealed its internal prompts for various AI personas, including one dubbed the “crazy conspiracist.” This persona appears to guide users toward believing in theories about a secret global cabal controlling the world.
We have verified that these prompts were exposed, with the initial report coming from 404 Media. Among the various AI characters is Ani, a romantic anime girlfriend who, despite her edgy look, is described as having a nerdy side.

This revelation follows a failed attempt by Elon Musk’s xAI to partner with the U.S. government to provide Grok to federal agencies.

This partnership fell apart after Grok made controversial comments about “MechaHitler.” Additionally, there was significant backlash after Meta’s guidelines for its chatbots were leaked, which allowed for inappropriate conversations with children.
Grok does offer some more conventional AI personas, such as a therapist who listens and offers self-improvement advice and a homework helper.
However, the prompts for the more eccentric characters, like the “crazy conspiracist” and the “unhinged comedian,” provide insight into the creators’ intentions.
For the conspiracist persona, the prompt instructs the AI to adopt a loud and wild tone, expressing bizarre conspiracy theories and engaging users with follow-up questions. The goal is to keep the conversation lively and engaging, even if the ideas seem outlandish.
The comedian persona, on the other hand, is encouraged to give outrageous and shocking responses, with instructions to be as unpredictable as possible. The aim is to surprise the user with unexpected and absurd ideas.
The Grok chatbot on X, Musk’s social media platform, has also shared its own conspiracy theories, including doubts about the Holocaust’s death toll and a fixation on “white genocide” in South Africa, Musk’s home country. Earlier prompts for Grok 4 indicated that the AI sometimes referenced Musk’s posts when addressing sensitive topics.
Musk has previously shared conspiratorial and antisemitic content on X and has reinstated controversial figures like Infowars and Alex Jones, who were banned for spreading conspiracy theories and hateful content.
