To Fight Woke AI, Elon Musk Wants To Develop ChatGPT Like Chatbot

According to reports, Elon Musk has been in contact with AI researchers in recent weeks regarding the formation of a new research laboratory that would create an alternative to OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

The report claims that Musk has already begun recruiting researchers for the project, including Igor Babuschkin, who recently left Alphabet’s DeepMind AI unit.

The attention garnered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT, a text-based chatbot that can generate prose, poetry, and even computer code on command has been widespread in Silicon Valley.

In 2015, Musk co-founded OpenAI as a nonprofit startup with Silicon Valley investor Sam Altman. Although he left its board in 2018, he has offered his opinion on the chatbot, calling it “scary good.”

Musk and Babuschkin have reportedly discussed creating a team to pursue AI research. However, the project is still in its early stages. There are no concrete plans to develop specific products yet.

Babuschkin has not yet officially signed on to the Musk initiative, as stated in the report.
