YouTube has announced its joining forces in partnership with Arizona State University and educational video firm Crash Course to launch a new program that will allow learners to gain college credits.

The Google-owned firm says that the program, dubbed College Foundations, is designed to provide a cost-effective and accessible method of earning college credits.

Today, students can enroll in four courses beginning on 7 March 2023 and may be eligible to transfer credits.

The program doesn't need applications or the submission of a minimum GPA for admission.

It includes the most common first-year college classes, such as Intro to Human Communication, Rhetoric and Composition Real World College Math, and US History to 1865.

The program is set to grow to 12 courses by the beginning of January 2025.
