Ukraine Retaken 6,000 Sq Km From Russia

The president of Ukraine has stated that Ukrainian forces have taken more territory from Russia in their ongoing counter-offensive. 

Volodymyr Zelensky stated that troops had retaken more than 6,000 km (2,317 miles) of territory from Russian control in September in the east and the south.

Some military experts consider this a breakthrough in the war. 

Russia admitted to having lost key cities in Kharkiv's north-eastern Kharkiv.

Moscow refers to its troop withdrawal in the region as a "regrouping," intending to focus on the Luhansk and Donetsk regions in Ukraine's east. 

This claim was ridiculed in Russia as many Russian social media users referred to the "shameful" pull-out.

Later on Monday, US Secretary Antony Blinken stated that Ukrainian forces had made "significant advances" in the counter-offensive.

Still, it was too soon to predict the outcome. "Russians have huge forces in Ukraine and weapons, arms, and ammunition.
