Tencent has admitted to firing more than 100 employees in 2022 due to various forms of corruption.

Some were so serious that they were reported to the local police.

In a post on our corporate WeChat account of Tencent, the company's internal corruption fighters released the conglomerate's annual report on corruption prevention.

The court also convicted one employee from the film production department who accepted bribes and was imprisoned for three years.

Another defendant was sentenced to two years for the same crime.

Others employees swindled corporate funds, created fraudulent contracts, or sought items to use for personal purposes through Tencent suppliers.

In all, 23 external organizations were identified as being involved in the corruption of Tencent.

Tencent employs more than 100,000 people.

So, finding that around 100 of them are shady doesn't mean that there is widespread corruption.
