Tencent And Logitech Are Building A Cloud Gaming Handheld Device

Scribbled Arrow

Logitech G, the gaming-focused division of PC and console peripherals manufacturer, has announced a partnership to launch a "cloud gaming handheld" later in the year with Tencent Games.

These companies have been in discussions with Nvidia GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming teams, indicating that these services will be fully supported.

Additionally, these services will enable gamers to play AAA games on the move.

This announcement focuses solely on cloud gaming. Therefore, it's unclear if any games will run on the device.

This makes it different from other devices like the Steam Deck, which focuses on local gaming.

However, it can also do cloud gaming, but it is cumbersome without an available 5G or 4G connection.

Although it could be unrelated, members of the subreddit r/SteamDeck discovered a 2020 Tencent patent filing earlier this year. This renders a handheld "PC Console."

Of course, this could be unrelated as Tencent is a large company with its fingers in many pies. However, the general form factor will likely be very similar.
