Although the Poco C40 was due to be unveiled globally today, the Vietnamese division of the brand jumped the gun and held its launch last week.
Today, it's officially official, with its chipset by a manufacturer you may not have heard of before.
The front panel features a 6.71-inch LCD with HD+ resolution and a water drop spot for the selfie camera. Mounted on a large black island, the fingerprint scanner can be found on the back.
Cameras are located within the same rectangle. You get a basic 13MP main camera and a depth sensor of 2MP.
This phone's most striking feature is the 6,000 mAh battery that can be charged with 18W.
The Xiaomi-owned brand will ship this phone with a 10W charger. You'll need an additional charger to make the most of it.
It is not manufactured by Qualcomm, Mediatek, or Unisoc - the chipset is JR510 from Shanghai-based JLQ. It has four cores at 2GHz and four cores at 1.5 GHz. The GPU is Mali G52.
It should be comparable to the Snapdragon 450 and Helio G35 in terms of performance. The Poco C40 comes in two memory options: 3/32 GB or 4/64GB.
The internal storage can be expanded via microSD cards. The global market still offers three color options: Black, Green, and Yellow.
Poco stated in a press release that the price of the Poco C40 varies depending on where it is available.
