Patreon Lays Off 17 Percent Of Its Employees

Patreon will lay off 80 employees, which is around 17% of its workforce.

It also closes offices in Dublin, Berlin, and Dublin.

Jack Conte, CEO and cofounder of Patreon, posted that the company has changed its plans following the pandemic.

It is reducing the number of its "operations, recruitment, and other support functions" teams and its marketing budget.

Patreon's operations, finance, go-to-market, and people teams are affected by the layoffs.

The US workers will be paid three months of severance and two additional weeks for every half-year of their tenure beyond their first year.

European workers will receive a similar deal with three months of health coverage.

Patreon will also close two European offices to reduce the number of layoffs and allow nine Irish engineers to move to the USA.
