Oppo’s Air Glass Is An Augmented Reality Experiment With One Great Idea

"Normal-looking glasses" are the ultimate goal of augmented reality.

Oppo's Air Glass is a heads-up display that uses glasses to show information on its smartphones.

It was launched earlier this year. It is expensive at 4,999 Yuan (around $745).

It is still more of a demo than a product, as almost all AR-oriented consumer devices are.

I tested the glasses with a compatible phone, and I realized I had a brilliant design idea.

While many AR experiments are focused on technical capabilities, the Air Glass allows you to experiment with a unique form factor while pushing your hardware's limits.
