Android users who use YouTube may have noticed a slight change to the progress bar in Dark mode.

This is the line under the video when you view streaming content in portrait orientation.

As a video plays, the bar moves to its right and shows how many of it has loaded.

The progress bar is usually red, but some Android users, such as this writer, see a white-colored or gray progress bar.

The white/gray progress bars will not show the portion of the line showing how much of a particular movie has been loaded onto the app.

To move forward or back (an activity called scrubbing), touch the line.

Tap on the video to return the controls. The progress bar will return to its original red color when the video is loaded.

Don't worry if your YouTube app doesn’t show this change. This could be Google's A/B testing.

The Pixel 6 Pro that I used has white/gray progress bars, but it runs Android 13 QPR2 Beta 1
