NASA Identifies Strange Object Its Perseverance Rover Found On Mars

NASA's Perseverance spacecraft is currently studying Mars's Jezero delta crater, which traveled across interplanetary space to study.

While much science is being done, Perseverance discovered some strange trash on Mars.

It was mostly debris from the lander that delivered Perseverance safely.

The rover now has more strange stuff, though it may be the rover itself.

Perseverance sealed its 12th sample and took photos of the components to ensure everything was in order.

The NASA team returned home with unexpected results when they downloaded the samples.

"In those images were two small pieces of dirt - a small object (stored in the bit cartouse) and a small hairline item on the drillchuck," Art Thompson wrote in a blog.

Thomspon stated that the team is currently investigating the origin of the debris and whether it was from the rover or external debris from an entry, descent and landing (EDL) system that was scrapped during the mission.

The mission team took more photos to try and determine the object's nature over the weekend.

We will share the results of our analysis as soon as possible.
