NASA Announces Discovery Of 'Ear' On Mars

Scribbled Arrow

Are they listening? NASA has announced that they have found an EAR on Mars.

The U.S. space agency released an exciting image taken by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter spaceship on Friday.

On 7 September 2020, the HiRise camera onboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter spaceship captured a familiar-looking shape at 291 km above the Red Planet.

A NASA spokesperson said that Friday's observation was pareidolia.

This is where features such as faces and patterns are seen where they don't exist.

If the shape does indeed resemble something, it could be. In this instance, the impact crater is oddly shaped and looks like an ear.

It's almost impossible not to see once you have. The crater measures just over 1,800m in diameter.
