According to an article published in The Verge, Microsoft's chief people officer, Kathleen Hogan, announced the new policy via an email sent to employees.

The policy is known as "Discretionary Time Off" and was modified to modernize the vacation policy of the company to more flexible models.

In addition to the unlimited vacation days, employees will receive 10 corporate holidays, 10 leaves of absence for mental and sick time off and time off for jury duty or grieving.
