LG Is Bringing NFTs To Its Smart TVs

A few months ago, Samsung revealed it would be adding non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on its screens; now, LG is offering the same.

LG's latest NFT marketplace, dubbed LG Art Lab, lets users "buy, sell and view stunning digital art" on TV.

Currently, only people who reside in the US using an LG TV running webOS 5.0 or later can access the app/platform.

It can be downloaded from your TV's main screen. On the website, users can purchase and sell available digital artworks through LG's drop of NFT.

The first drop is scheduled to take place on September 22nd and includes a collection of NFTs with a metallic appearance created by the sculptor Barry X Ball.

LG's NFT platform is built on Hedera, which is described as the "most utilized, durable enterprise ledger that supports an economy that is decentralized."

Contrary to Ethereum and Solana networks, many well-known NFT marketplaces can support Hedera.

However, the Hedera network doesn't run via the blockchain and utilizes an alternative to blockchain, known as hashgraph.
