James Webb Space Telescope Captures Orion Nebula

On Monday, an international research team revealed the first images of the Orion Nebula taken with the James Webb Space Telescope.

Astronomers were "blown away" by the discovery. The stellar nursery can be found in the Orion constellation, just 1,350 light-years from Earth.

It is located in the same setting where our solar system was born more than 4.5 million years ago.

Images were taken as part of the Early Release Science Program. More than 100 scientists participated in the program from 18 countries.

Els Peeters, Western University's astrophysicist, said that the Orion Nebula's breathtaking images had "blown us away."
