Honor has rather quietly announced its Honor X8 5G phone, which is said to be the version with 5G capabilities of the previously launched Honor X8 in March of this year.

To begin, the latest X8 5G sports a smaller 6.5-inch screen with an IPS LCD with a resolution of 720 x 1600px.

This is because the Snapdragon 680 processor has now been swapped to a Snapdragon 408+.

This, surprisingly, is a much more powerful option despite its dated manufacturing process and slower clock speeds. The memory options are limited to one option - 6GB/128GB.

Honor has had to cut a few edges to maintain the price; this is why the main 64MP camera was replaced by the 48MP f/1.8 and has been replaced with an ultrawide 5MP camera.

The X8 5G now has just a macro shooter of 2MP and a depth sensor of 2MP. The selfie camera has been reduced up to 8MP f/2.0.

A 5,000mAh battery will keep the lights on, allowing up to 22.5W quick charging.

There are two colors available: Ocean Blue and Midnight Black. Unfortunately, there's no information regarding pricing and availability right now.
