HBO Cancels Sci-Fi Drama 'Westworld'

It's time for Westworld to go. After four seasons of sci-fi, HBO canceled the title. Showrunners Jonathan Nolan (and Lisa Joy) had hoped for a fifth season to achieve the ending they wanted.

Joy and Nolan tried to reach an agreement for a final season in October, but it didn't work out.

HBO released the following statement: "Over the last four seasons, Lisa [Jonathan] has taken viewers on a mind-bending journey, setting the bar high at every turn."

Westworld was once a major HBO show. It received 54 Emmy nominations, and Thandiwe Newton won Outstanding Supporting Actress.

However, it has never recovered in its ratings and viewership. Fans found it disappointing that the show wasn't renewed after the last season.
