Grimes Says Metaverse Is ‘Dead’ If It’s Run By ‘Under-Qualified’ Mark Zuckerberg

Grimes criticised Mark Zuckerberg on Friday, saying that Zuckerberg's Facebook creator was "under-qualified" to create the metaverse.

"If Zuck 'oversees the Metaverse, it's dead, and those who care about culture and art are building something different," the singer tweeted.

Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, made the statement in response to an article regarding the recent appearance of Zuckerberg with Joe Rogan.

Outside of her musical career, Grimes has been known to play with visual arts. In 2017 she sold a set of NFTs worth more than $6 million.

The singer is also famous for her passion for video games, sci-fi and fantasy.

She's even recently stated she'd like to change her ears to look more like an elf.

For the virtual reality intended to be a destination for people who love fantasy and gaming, Zuckerberg's Metaverse is far from being sold by Grimes.

Grimes also poked fun at the Meta CEO's latest avatar release. "This is not artwork," Grimes tweeted.

"The beauty of this picture indicates how inexperienced Grimes is in creating alternate realities. Every game indie looks better."
