All episodes of HBO's Game of Thrones TV series are now available on HBO Max in 4K HDR.

In addition, all eight seasons can be viewed with Dolby Vision or Dolby Atmos.

This is a great way to enjoy the wait before House of the Dragon's series premiere on August 21st.

The new formats are only available to those who have subscribed to HBO Max's ad-free plan at $14.99 per month or $149.99 per year.

House of the Dragon will also be available in 4K. In addition, HBO claims it will debut the Game of Thrones spinoff in this format in 4K.

It supports HDR 10, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos. Game of Thrones is already available in 4K Blu-ray on Blu-ray.

However, streaming HBO Max will save you $150 to purchase the complete box set. FlatpanelsHD points out that Blu-ray will have some benefits.

First, you'll be able to watch at a higher bitrate, which means better quality. You won't have trouble streaming apps as slow as HBO Max's.

But either way, you can still start and stop watching whenever you feel it makes sense.
