ESPN Plus Subscription Will Rise to $10 a Month

ESPN will increase the cost of its standalone ESPN Plus streaming service from $6.99 per month to $9.99 per mo, which is almost 43 percent more than reported by Sports Business Journal.

This change takes effect on August 23rd. The annual plan will also be priced at $99.99, up from $69.99.

The price of your streaming ESPN service will not change if you purchase it as part of the Disney bundle.

This package includes Disney Plus, ESPN Plus, and ad-supported Hulu. Hulu without ads costs $19.99 per month.

Although the service's support pages and website have not been updated to reflect this increase, Disney spokesperson Paul Melvin indicated that subscribers would be notified next week.

This price increase reflects that even though moving between packages and services becomes more accessible as we move beyond traditional cable bundles, access isn't as affordable as it used to be.

ESPN Plus already increased its price twice last year. Now, it's going up even more.

ESPN points out that ESPN Plus content deals include ESPN Plus components and access to its editorial content subscribers receive.

However, it is possible if you dream of unfettered streaming of sports. Disney's pricing encourages people to take the bundle, even if it's not what they really want.
