A Chinese launch company has conducted tests using fire to develop a reusable stainless steel rocket that is believed to be copied from SpaceX's Starship.

Space Epoch recently performed a series of tests on the 4.2-meter-diameter stainless propellant tank of steel coupled with a Longyun-70 methane liquid oxygen engine created by the engine manufacturer Jiuzhou Yunjian.

The tests were conducted at Jiuzhou Yunjian's facility in Anhui Province.

The tests are part of Beijing-based Space Epoch's plans to develop a 64-meter-tall stainless steel launcher capable of lifting 6.5 tons to a 1,100-kilometer-altitude sun-synchronous orbit.
