Can You Solve This Optical Illusion That Confused Elon Musk?

Scribbled Arrow

Puzzle-lovers are trying to juggle their brains with this optical illusion that defies physics that makes stationary cubes appear to spin.

This optical illusion went viral all over Twitter, which led to it being caught by the attention of Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

The square-o-dynamic illusion is currently getting more attention in the famous optical illusion trend.

The visual puzzle shows two cubes seated in a row. However, when the user clicks on the shapes, the display is black, and the cubes appear to rotate as disco cubes.

The problem is that the boxes were, in fact, stationary throughout the entire time.

The illusion is believed to have resulted from a perceptual principle known as the phi phenomena,

Which is an "illusion of motion" caused by a pair of static objects placed side-by-side and then illuminated quickly, according to The Encyclopedia Britannica.

Unfortunately, according to the New World Encyclopedia, the method of this trick is not clear.

However, most scientists believe it's a physiological process embedded in how optic nerves and the brain communicate.

SpaceX's Elon Musk was awed by the corneal confusion, particularly responding "Wow, Confusing And Exciting" to an account of what he saw.
