Apple Plans To Sell Ads In New Spots In The App Store By Year-End

Apple will release new ads "placements" in the holiday season according to

A Tuesday message to developers inviting them to attend an online session encouraging them to purchase ads.

These new spots significantly increased Apple's advertising inventory, primarily focusing on its App store.

Apple's advertising inventory is limited to one unit on the App Store Search tab and one on search results pages.

According to Eric Seufert, founder of Mobile Dev Memo, the message reads: "With new opportunities coming to Apple Search Ads,

You can promote your Apps across the App Store to engage even more customers this Holiday season."

A developer was invited to confirm the message to reporters.

Although the message to developers did not specify where the new ads would be placed,

Apple announced in July that it would expand its menu by adding an ad unit to the Today tab and another sponsored unit to app product pages under "You Might Also like."
