Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music offer discounted tier plans for students who have verified their identity.

In addition, Apple quietly increased the price for Apple Music's student tier in the US, Canada and UK, as reported by 9to5Mac readers.

The UK's rate will increase from GBP 4.99 to GBP 5.99 for US and Canada.

This rate increase comes just weeks after Apple Music raised the rates for student plans in several countries across Africa, Asia Pacific and Oceania.

Apple's Music Voice Plan will continue to be $4.99. The plan allows users to enjoy Apple Music by asking Siri to play tracks on their Apple devices.

Apple Music's standard family and individual plans are available at $9.99 and $19.99, respectively.

We wouldn't be surprised to see competitors Spotify or YouTube Music raise their student prices now that Apple has increased them.
