Apple CEO Tim Cook: iPhone Won't Adopt RCS Messaging Used By Android Phones

The debate over messaging between iOS and Android users has continued for years.

The green vs. blue bubble crisis recently reached new heights.

Google launched an advertisement campaign to convince Apple to adopt Rich Communication Services (RCS), but Apple CEO Tim Cook seemed skeptical.

Cook was present at the 2022 Code Conference along with Jony Ive, Laurene Powell Jobs and Kara Swisher.

Cook was asked how Apple founder Steve Jobs would react to the RCS standard being incorporated into iMessage.

He replied that he didn't hear users asking about it and added that he would love to convert him to an iPhone user.

A reporter asked a follow-up question about the problem of being unable to send high-quality videos and photos

Between his iPhone and his mother's Android phones due to limitations in the SMS standard that Apple phones still use.

Tim Cook replied, "Buy your mother, an iPhone." This indicates that Apple is not planning to adopt RCS anytime soon.

The problems with messaging between iOS users and Android users will continue.
