Meta banned Andrew Tate, an influencer on Instagram and Facebook, for violating its policies.

After a clip that showed him attacking a woman, the former kickboxer became famous in 2016.

His online fame grew, with Twitter banning his comments that women should "bear the responsibility" for being se*ually assaulted.

When his account was deleted, he had 4.7 million Instagram fans.

This number had risen rapidly from just over one million followers in June.

Meta claimed it had removed the kickboxing superstar from its platforms because

he violated its policies on dangerous organizations and individuals but didn't provide further details.

Tate claimed that the video was edited at the time of his Big Brother removal, calling it "a complete lie to make me look bad."
