Microsoft’s new Bing search engine was launched on Tuesday with the new chatbot AI feature. Although the new Bing search engine is currently only available to a few users, many people would like to try it.
Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President, said on Twitter that over one million people had signed up for the ChatGPT-powered Bing search engine within 48 hours.
The number of people on the waitlist is matched by the number who have downloaded the Bing mobile app this week. The analytic firm data.ai reports a 10x increase in downloads since the introduction of Bing ChatGPT earlier this week.
Microsoft announced that it would open the new, full Bing experience to millions more users in the coming weeks. Google, its rival, plans to open up its chatbot called Google Bard or Bard AI to the public soon. All employees will be asked to try it before releasing it to the public.
