Google has approved Trump-backed Truth Social for its Play Store. As per multiple trusted sources, Google has accepted Donald Trump’s Truth Social app on the Play Store for users to download. Truth Social is akin to Twitter, as Donald Trump was banned from the platform and Facebook in 2021.
Truth Social first went live on the Apple App Store earlier this year. During that time, Google faced issues that this new platform had to address. One of the problems Google identified when it came to Truth Social was its lack of moderation for content. These concerns included Google’s comments about posting on its platform about inciting violence.
As Axios states, all apps listed on the Google Play Store must feature strict policies for content moderation if users create the content. They must also block illicit content and content that might provoke violence or contain the words hate speech.
The former U.S. president’s social media platform is described as an app that “encourages the openness, open and honest conversation across the globe without discriminating against political ideologies,” according to its description in the Apple App Store.
Within the timeframe in which Truth Social needed to adhere to the Play Store policies, Axios says Truth Social was accessible for download on its website and the google play store. Furthermore, Truth Social made its appearance on the Samsung Galaxy Store, as well. As these earlier issues appear to have been solved, we anticipate that Donald Trump’s Truth Social app will appear on the Play Store soon.
